Long Overdue Follow-up to the 5K 4 MDA

The 5K 4 MDA put on by the students at Blue Springs High School was a success! The weather was a bit chilly and rainy early in the morning but really cleared up just before race time. Below are some highlights from the race as well as a few pictures.

$5,630 raised for the MDA! Way to go, students!

Record number of participants with 220! And on a rainy morning, that is awesome.

85 Volunteers through the DECA program at Blue Springs High School.

Adult Male Winners:

1st: Caleb Teague with a time of 17:06

2nd: Gabe Lutes

3rd: Joe Schur

Adult Female Winners:

1st: Connie Abbott with a time of 18:08

2nd: Jennifer Gestin

3rd: Sherry Hein

Winner Age 15-18: Dalton Joyce

Winner Age 11-14: Sam Phillips

Winner Age 10 and Under: Mason Smith

I came in about 25:15 which was a great time for me. Especially since I was not feeling particularly well with ear infections in both ears that weekend. Thanks students, for such a great community event in Blue Springs.
