Chase Hawkins Gets KC Fit!

When I started working on my new startup zappn.com, I didn’t know that it was going to shut down my “physical” life.  I was working my full-time job, and then working 3-5 hrs on the website when I would get home.  13-16 hour days would leave no time to eat well, exercise, or live healthy.

A few months ago, I quit my full-time job to focus on zappn.  I think that this was one of the turning points in my somewhat healthy lifestyle.  I now had most mornings and evenings free, and was able to focus on myself, while having the energy to do so.

My main focus when I started my “healthy” transition were the following things:
  • 1500 calories a day.  (This was a very tough goal, but one that I have stuck with for over 2 months now.)
  • Walk 18 holes of golf 1-2 days a week.  (Doing something I love, while getting healthy was important for me)
  • Cut out quite a bit of drinking.  (instead of drinking 10-15 drinks a week, I cut back to 5 or so)
  • Walk to the store, meetings, and other places downtown.

These might sound simple to many people, but it is a great start for me.  I am now down about 25 pounds in about a month and a half.  I have started to look into other options for exercise such as P90X, running, and biking around downtown.

Are you getting KC Fit? We want to hear about it and share your story to inspire others!
